Get to Know the CEO

For the woman who’s known me the longest, aka my mom, she’s not only raised me but also knows me to always have that “I want to be the boss” “I’d rather run a company than work for one” mentality. That of course carried throughout my childhood and into my teen years. The first job I thought about having was starting a lip balm business way back in 2015/2016. I did so much research but ultimately decided against it because I felt the timing for where I was in my life wasn’t right. And let me say I am so glad I waited :).

Jumping into 2020, the year is looking bright and I was in my last semester to complete my freshman year of college. My main focus was learning a new language while also keeping up with my grades as a business major, then behold, the pandemic hits! Not what anyone was expecting but I intended to make the most out of a dream that started years before.

When first starting my brand I had to figure out what I wanted to sell. Entrepreneurship, especially in the cosmetics’ industry, spiked while everyone was in quarantine. When finally deciding on what kind of cosmetics I wanted to sell I buckled down and did a ton of research. And I do mean a ton! The countless videos and blog post I read insured me that the industry I was in I could start with little to no experience and relatively low start up cost and legal documentation needed.

But before I could begin I needed a name. People are always curious where I got CetroneCollections from. And the answer is simply a Grey’s Anatomy episode. I remember Meredith had Marie Ciron visiting and as soon as I heard the name for some reason Cetrone popped into my head. The “collections” comes from me, truthfully, being undecided about how many different types of products I would sell.

Now that I had my name I decided I would do all the branding, logo, labeling, and everything I could by myself. Guess that’s the independent I was raised with coming through. I came up with a logo, I bought inventory and tested and tested…..and tested the perfect lip gloss formula many times over. And I knew I had it after researching more than just oils I could add to make my formula smoother and shiny. And now even today my hard work and testing has paid off because that exact same formula is still going strong.

Now finally, three years later I have taken breaks throughout my entrepreneurial career but I don’t intend to slow down anymore. I’ve put so much time and effort to not see my brand reach it’s full potential and I’m so glad you’re here to join me on the journey. Have a look around, I know you’ll find something you like :).

With Love,

Zoe
